Project Overview
At a recent event at Columbia Teachers College, we implemented two integrated systems designed to enrich the audience experience: a live AI-generated summarization tool and an interactive question platform. These technologies aimed to foster dynamic engagement and ensure that audience contributions directly influenced the event's discourse.
Live AI Summarization
To keep attendees informed in real-time, we developed a system that recorded live audio, transcribed it using Whisper, and generated structured summaries via OpenAI's GPT-3.5-turbo model. This process provided attendees with concise overviews of ongoing discussions, enhancing comprehension and engagement.
Interactive Question Platform
We also introduced a platform enabling attendees to submit questions and upvote others' inquiries during the event. Built using Firebase services, this system ensured that the most pertinent questions surfaced, allowing the panel to address topics of highest interest to the audience.
The integration of these AI-driven tools transformed the event into an interactive experience. Attendees actively participated by submitting and endorsing questions, while real-time summaries ensured everyone remained informed.This approach not only democratized the flow of information but also empowered the audience to shape the conversation, aligning with modern educational paradigms that value active learning and engagement.
