Project Overview

As a UX/UI designer collaborating with Phoenix Calibration, a leading Dominican company specializing in medical equipment maintenance, I spearheaded the design of a desktop application aimed at simplifying the calibration process for various medical products. This initiative marked my initial venture into the medical industry, challenging me to apply my design expertise to enhance operational efficiency and user experience within this critical sector.

Process and Collaboration

I collaborated with an interdisciplinary team of engineers, developers, and more. The project commenced with comprehensive research to understand the calibration procedures' complexities and user pain points deeply. This phase involved engaging with the Phoenix Calibration team to identify challenges during the calibration process and finding ways to optimize them.

User-Centric Design Approach

Informed by the research findings, I crafted user personas to represent the diverse technician user base, facilitating a design process grounded in empathy and user needs. This user-centric approach was pivotal in guiding the design, testing, and iteration stages, ensuring the software's functionality and interface met the real-world demands of its users.

Challenge and Objective

The primary goal was to develop a user-friendly desktop application that could improve the calibration process, making it accessible and straightforward for users -in this case technicians.

Results

The resulting desktop application optimized the calibration experience by offering intuitive interfaces, streamlined task flows, and a visually appealing design that significantly reduced the calibration process's complexity. Continuous user feedback and usability testing were instrumental in refining the software, highlighting the importance of an iterative design process in meeting user expectations and enhancing productivity.
